Ending months of speculation and following a dramatic season finale that saw his character, George O'Malley, literally in limbo between life and death, it now appears that original Grey's Anatomy cast member T.R. Knight will not be returning to the series next fall.

As for co-star Katherine Heigl, whose character was last seen in the same situation, there is still no word on whether she too will leave the award-winning medical drama.
