Chicago Med Season 5 Episode 8 revolves around tough choices.

When Natalie stops by during chemo, Maggie is eager to introduce her to Ben. But Ben appears to be ill, and when Natalie insists on examining him, she discovers he has measles and secondary infections that are probably going to kill him.

A distraught Maggie wants Natalie to do something, but Natalie says that all they can do is palliative care. To make matters worse, Sharon says Ben cannot be released to die at home because there is a measles outbreak in the city. A desperate Maggie first begs Natalie to discharge Ben anyway, then takes matters into her own hands when Natalie refuses.

Meanwhile, Noah asks Marcel to keep it to himself that his ex-gang member patient is living with him. Marcel agrees, but soon Noah is brought back into the hospital with severe injuries after getting jumped and beaten by a gang. When Marcel eventually tells Jay Halstead the truth, April is angry that he didn't tell her earlier. But there are soon bigger problems to deal with because Noah is in critical condition and Marcel and Lanic disagree about whether he needs surgery.

And finally, Elsa struggles both with a crush on Will and with thinking the unorthodox treatment he orders for a patient is too risky.
