Euphoria: HBO Picks up Zendaya Fronted Drama, Drake Joins as Executive Producer

Zendaya is officially headed to HBO!

The premium cable network has placed a series order for the series which is based on the Israeli series of the same name. 

Euphoria is a teen drama that focuses on a group of teenagers as they navigate the issues that plague teenagers in this day and age.

The cast also includes Storm Reid, Maude Apatow, Brian “Astro” Bradley, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Hunter Schafer and Sydney Sweeney.

Sam Levinson will write all episodes of the series and will serve as an executive producer alongside Drake, Future the Prince, Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokadi and Gary Lennon.

Zendaya is best known for her roles Shake It Up, K.C. Undercover and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Zendaya is also a singer and has released a string of hit singles and one album.

She shared a first look at the new drama series on Instagram to her 52 million followers. It shows her, seemingly in character at a party. 

It's certainly a great way to market the series when you consider the amount followers Zendaya has amassed on social media. 

There's no premiere date yet, but it will likely bow on the premium network at some point in 2019. 

It joins a network that includes the likes of Game of Thrones, Sharp Objects, Big Little Lies and Succession.

HBO recently handed a series order to Joss Whedon drama, The Nevers, and also has a Game of Thrones spinoff in development.
