The CW Orders The Flash to Series, Passes on Supernatural Spinoff

at .

In the wake of three cancelations and three renewals, The CW has ordered four new shows to series for 2014-2015.

The announcement is highlighted by THE FLASH,  a quasi spinoff of Arrow that will feature Grant Gustin in the famous comic book role, centering on scientist Barry Allen and his power of super speed.

It has passed, however, on Supernatural: Bloodlines, a potential spinoff whose backdoor pilot was not well received.

It's The Flash!

Other dramas ordered to series include:

iZombie: A zombie who is also a medical student takes a job at a coroner’s office because she must eat brains in order to remain human. She ends up helping police solve crimes. Stars David Anders, Robert Buckley and Rose McIver. Produced by Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars).

Jane the Virgin: A religious young Latina woman ends up artificially inseminated… by accident. Stars Gina Rodriguez, Yael Grobglas and Brett Dier.

The Messengers: When a mysterious object crashes down to earth, a group of seemingly unconnected strangers die from the energy pulse, but then awaken to learn that they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending Apocalypse. Stars Shantel VanSante, Sofia Black-D’Elia and Joel Courtney.

We'll have A LOT more on these new shows - air dates/time, photos, trailers - next Thursday when The CW makes its Upfront presentation in New York City.

What is a "Chock'lit Shoppe" and why does it sell burgers?!

Our story is about a town; a small town and the people who live in the town. From a distance, it presents itself like so many other small towns all over the world...safe, decent, innocent. Get closer though and you start seeing the shadows underneath. The name of our town is "Riverdale".
