Will Dead to Me Rise Again on Netflix?

at .

Ever since Dead to Me captivated audiences on Netflix earlier this year, fans have been clamoring for more episodes.

Thankfully, Netflix has confirmed it will offer up a second season of the popular comedy series in 2020.

The addictive series follows two women, Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini), who become fast friends at a grief support group.

Jen struggles to understand Judy at first, but offers up her guesthouse to the new friend.

Jen finds herself questioning her decision when she learns that Judy is not the person she thought she was.

But Jen is too busy trying to find the hit and run driver who killed her husband. Judy seemingly understands what Jen is going through and that's why their friendship blossoms.

James Marsden, Ed Asner, and Brandon Scott are the supporting players on the series, while Jessica Elbaum, Christie Smith, Applegate, Adam McKay, and Will Ferrell serve as executive producers.

Dead to Me Season 1 currently has an approval rating of 87 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix rarely releases any meaningful data about viewership stateside, but the U.K. arm of the company has revealed that Dead to Me has become a number one show, eking out a victory over Lucifer.

Dead to Me's renewal comes just months after the streamer canceled comedies like One Day at a Time and Santa Clarita Diet.

Both shows apparently did not generate enough interest to continue at the streamer, but many have pointed out that Netflix seems to be canceling many shows after their third seasons.
