Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 22 finishes the story of the search for Shadowerk.

The episode begins by flashing back to six months ago, when a boy named Kyle decides not to go to Christmas at his grandmother's so he can work on his computer. He later befriends a ride-share driver who he tells he is going to change the world. Kyle returns home, writes a suicide note, and prepares to kill himself, but changes his mind when Shadowerk beeps to tell him about the first job.

In the present, the US Attorney benches Benson and Stabler who question the people at the company they have been surveilling. They learn that Kyle is the owner's son. SHhe doesn't want to give him up but Rollins persuades her to.

The manhunt for Kyle takes a tragic turn when Whelan is shot. Reyes is by his side and keeps him alive but the medics have to go to tend to Kyle, who tries to stab himself.

Kyle is taken to a prison hospital where he is told he needs to shut down the server if he wants any kind of deal. Meanwhile, Whelan learns he is paralyzed.
