Law & Order: SVU Season 20 Episode 2 continues the saga of the Conway family.

After Molly is allowed to testify at trial, Stone tries to prosecute Conway for raping Sam, but the jury finds Conway not guilty despite Molly's testimony. Molly doubts her own beliefs about this and tells Benson to leave her alone and the Conways go home, but SVU is soon called to the scene of Sam's school after he brings his hunting rifle to school and shoots his classmates.

During a chaotic scene, Carisi finds Sam in a baseball field attempting to shoot himself in the head. He manages to talk him out of suicide and arrests him. Sam pleads guilty and is sent to prison for life, but Benson is upset that Conway is suffering no consequences. Stone decides to arrest and prosecute Conway for criminally negligent homicide because of his attitudes towards masculinity and his treatment of Sam.

Meanwhile, Rollins continues to struggle emotionally with her pregnancy and confides to Benson that she isn't sure she wants to keep the baby. She has seen too much and doesn't know if she's up for worrying about another life.
