The Good Doctor Season 3 Episode 16 revolves around people's inability to express love.

Shaun throws himself into a new case after breaking up with Carly. He has a homeless patient with no name who died on the operating table and he becomes desperate to find out what caused her death. Melendez and Lim tell him to move on, but he won't listen.

Eventually, Shaun and Park locate the woman's son, Jules, who is bitter about his mother and says he does not care how she died. Shaun has an autistic meltdown and gets arrested.

Glassman gets Shaun from jail and tries to convince him this is because of the breakup with Carly. Shaun insists he's fine and that he can't tell Lea he loves her because Lea might reject him.

Later, Shaun and Carly solve the autopsy together but Shaun tells Carly she's right -- he loves Lea more.

Meanwhile, Morgan and Claire work with a patient who exhibits an alternate personality at night. His alter is caused by a cyst in his brain that he isn't sure he wants drained since it isn't life-threatening
