The Good Doctor Season 3 Episode 8 revolves around relationship problems.

After a date at the carnival, Carly is ready to have sex, but Shaun can't deal with it and runs away. Later, Carly comes up with the idea of using exposure therapy to make Shaun comfortable with lying in bed with her, but Shaun freaks out after 8 seconds and Carly says if he won't try to get past it, they're done.

Shaun tells Park that he's come to the conclusion that he's better at surgery than dating so he will just give up Carly. Park tries to talk him out of that.

Meanwhile, Melendez and Lim can't see eye-to-eye because Melendez still thinks Lim overestimates his abilities and Lim thinks he's acting out of fear because of Patty Fields' death. When a new patient wants a risky surgery, Lim and Melendez have a loud, public argument that attracts Glassman's attention.

Shaun and Park's patient is a well-known leukemia expert who is dying of heart failure but doesn't want to contact her ex-husband. Park thinks she is afraid of rejection and takes matters into his own hands.

Finally, Morgan is chosen to lead a complex surgery, but she has a problem: she has rheumatoid arthritis and may have too much pain in her hand to do the surgery.

The Good Doctor Season 3 Episode 8 Quotes

It is good you didn't find anyone. Family members are the least qualified to make medical decisions.

Shaun

Melendez: I think I should run my surgeries by Glassman from now on. Audrey, we need checks and balances.
Lim: I am balanced. And I am the head of this department. You will continue to run your medical decisions by me.
