The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 13 revolves around connection.

When a teenage boy is brought into the hospital, Shaun discovers that the kid is into biohacking. He's surgically implanted technological devices into his wrists. Unfortunately, a magnet in his finger has caused a major infection that could cause him to lose his hand.

Shaun struggles to understand the family dynamics as Trent and his mother fight constantly, and Trent's mother wants Shaun to convince Trent to give up biohacking even though Shaun thinks the technology is fascinating.

Meanwhile, Morgan has a patient who wants the modern-day equivalent of a lobotomy to cure her chronic pain and depression. Glassman is against it at first but reluctantly agrees to do the surgery. However, the patient's brother is in charge of her medical care and he refuses to consent to the procedure. Without his consent, there is nothing Morgan can do but she's determined to find a way to get Justin to release his hold on Kayla.

Finally, Shaun finds it hard to navigate Jordan's presence in their apartment when she and Lea work on a project together and Morgan tries to get Park to choose a place to move into with her.
