A young girl and her father are fishing, and she is able to channel.

We learn that her village has been destroyed, and her father sends her away.

The girl is revealed to be the current Amyrlin Seat, the leader of the Aes Sedai.

She sentences Logain to live and lets his madness fester until he goes insane.

Moiraine stands up for Liandrin and her choice, which then causes Liandrin to turn on Moiraine.

Moiraine is then in trouble, and the Amyrlin Seat is forced to consider a punishment for her.

Moiraine finds Rand and Mat in Tar Valon and immediately becomes concerned about Mat's condition.

She starts to heal him, removing the darkness that was put inside him by the knife.

She absorbs the darkness, then puts it back into the dagger.

Nynaeve resents her for being there, and Moiraine admonishes her for her selfishness and how it would've killed Mat.

Moiraine then meets with Egwene and Perrin, and Egwene gives her the rings that she took from the White Cloaks.

Moiraine activates the painting in her room, which opens a passage to the Amyrlin Seat's chambers.

Her and Siuan (the Amyrlin Seat) have a secret affair together (that Lan knows about), even though the Amyrlin Seat isn't allowed to take lovers.

Moiraine tells her that she must exile Moiraine, so she may continue their mission of finding the dragon.

The next day, Siuan meets with Egwene and a resentful Nynaeve.

Nynaeve doesn't want to hear a word she says, but Egwene is more interested.

Later that day, Moiraine arrives to accept her punishment in front of all the other Aes Sedai.

She is cast out of her home, which causes great emotion for herself, and for Siuan, Mosvani, and her other Blue Aes Sedai.

She heads out to the gate where she plans on meeting Lan, Loial, and the five villagers.

As they head through the gate, Mat stays behind, leaving the others screaming for him, as the gate closes.
