Well, that was a crazy turn of events. 

We took a trip to the past on Scandal Season 7 Episode 9, and it was not that far back.

It was all about filling in the blanks to find out what really happened while Quinn was in Rowan's horrid basement. 

Quinn survived, and while the execution of this whole plot was a slap in the face to longtime fans of the series, I'm glad it's over. Losing Quinn at the hands of Rowan would be the most offensive exit for a long-serving character in the history of Shondaland. 

Quinn was against Olivia because she knew Olivia was turning to the dark side, so it made sense for Olivia to toy with Rowan to annoy him. 

If you watch Scandal online, you will already know that Olivia is on a slippery slope, and the chances of her pulling herself back from the brink are diminishing by the minute. 

Rowan is playing the long con in all of this, and I would love to know why he felt the need to buy enough clothing for Robin for the next few years. 

As you will probably recall, Quinn was nowhere in sight on Scandal Season 7 Episode 8 when Charlie burst in to find the baby. There's a small chance harm could still come to her because let's face it, this show is all about the crazy twists, even if they don't make much sense. 

I get that Quinn was dehydrated, but all of the scenes with her colleagues talking her through her situation were laughable. Quinn's survival instincts should have kicked in sooner. 

It's a bitter pill for me to swallow that she would leave it to voices in her head to give her the motivation she needed to save herself. 

It was similar to the way Huck saved himself after being shot, bundled into the trunk of a car and driven into a lake. His colleagues helped him through it. 

Maybe these scenes served a bigger purpose -- to show viewers that the characters on this show are superhuman, and they can channel their pals when they are about to die. 

Rowan is a strange one. He's one of those characters that likes to brag about everything. I chuckled a little when Quinn heard Rowan going at it with Olivia through the pipe. Didn't he yell a few scenes before about the basement being soundproof?

If there was ever a character who deserved better, it was Marv, and we only just met him. It was evident Rowan was playing him when he wanted the 40% discount. 

Rowan is well off, and he drinks bottles of wine that could pay my rent for the next ten years, so he was up to something. The penny dropped when he wanted Marv to purchase guns for him. 

To get the discount, Marv needed to take them out in his own name, and well, that's not the best thing to do for someone you've known a handful of days. 

It would have been out of character for Rowan to leave any loose ends, and that's why Marv's death was not a shock. It was only a matter of time. 

If, God forbid, Rowan wanted to go on a killing spree around the offices of QPA, Marv would be the fall guy. You could tell Joe Morton was loving every minute of playing the character during the episode. 

It will be interesting to see what comes next because Quinn knows deep down that her friendship with Olivia is over. Their relationship has never been as fraught as it is today, and I cannot wait for Quinn to make her grand return to QPA. 

It's about time Olivia got her comeuppance, and it's going to be a whole lot of fun to watch. It's not often shows allow their leads to become unlikable, but it's almost as if Scandal is doing everything and anything to get people talking. 

"Good People" was mind-boggling. It was more or less filler, save for a few scenes that advance the narrative. These rewind episodes need to stop. We have just nine left, and it's about time some things actually happened. At this rate, Quinn won't return to the team until the series finale.

Other tidbits from the episode:

• Rowan yelling about wanting his dinosaur back in the restaurant is iconic. Olivia knew she had the upper hand, and Rowan sounded like a little kid. 

• I refuse to believe someone who was trained by B613 could not have thought of a better plan to escape than Quinn did. 

• Rowan's speech about killing the only friend he ever had was embarrassing, and it illustrated how deranged the character really is. It's no wonder Olivia wants nothing to do with him. 

• Was it a bit too far for Quinn to hold Robin in one arm while scrubbing the blood of the person who helped deliver the baby with the other?
