Trish Patterson pitches another feature article to her editor, who suggests that Trish write about being a bridesmaid in three different weddings and how they are beginning a new chapter.

Trish stays with her best friend Sean, who announces he has to leave for a last-minute business trip, but he recruits his brother Ryan to help her and escort her to events.

At the launch party, all her friends have many more things for Trish to do for their weddings. Sean tries to get them to cut her some slack.

Trish tells them about her wedding article, but Michelle is afraid Trish will make them look like fools since she thinks weddings are too commercial. Sean gets the others to agree.

Peter gives Trish a rare record of the song he and June first danced to at the Spring Dance in high school. He wants it played at the reception.

Everyone harrases Trish about her date when Ryan arrives. They hug, and she pulls him onto the dance floor away from prying eyes.

The following day, Ryan accidentally bumps into Trish with the refrigerator door and breaks the rare record. He offers to help her find a replacement since it's essential.

Trish doesn't understand the importance, but Ryan does, and he finds it at a thrift store a few hours away and drives there to retrieve it.

Ryan shows up at Peter and June's wedding with the record just as Trish panics. He saved the day.

The next day, both Trish and Ryan try to write on the dock, but it's distracting. Trish goes to help Michelle, who learns that Rod received a job offer in London. Michelle doesn't want to move.

Later, Rod calls Trish because he can't find Michelle. Trish finds her at a horse farm, and Michelle admits they called off the wedding.

Michelle tells Trish and Ryan that she doesn't want to go to London, and Rod thinks she's a control freak, and everything has changed.

Trish and Ryan decide to help their friends and arrange to have them meet at the restaurant they first met at. While talking, Trish and Ryan talk on the docks about the perfect moment.

Michelle and Rod interrupted them and announced they had worked things out. They love each other, but they love their careers more, so they're still calling off the wedding and will host a party instead.

Trish is depressed, but Michelle seems happier now that she knows it's okay to change her mind. Laurel is upset with Sean for disappearing, so Trish talks to him about that.

He tells Trish that Laurel forgave him. Ryan gets word that he got accepted into the Australis project and has to leave right after the wedding ceremony.

Sean isn't happy, but he understands. He asks Ryan not to toy with Trish's feelings. Ryan asks Trish if they can see each other when he returns, but she doesn't want to be in limbo every few months.

Trish realizes every couple's story includes heartbreak and joy. At the reception, she's defending Ryan when he arrives. He missed her too much to leave. He says in his toast he learned about love from Sean.

Trish follows by saying all three couples taught her about love, and now she's ready to give love a chance.
