Hope returns to the school as part of Mystic Falls High's football team.
Landon is given powers thanks to Josie to help him throw the ball, but he starts to feel weird about roughing up Hope.
Hope makes a getaway to get belongings of Rafael's with the aim of saving him from a new creature.
Landon attacks the beast and kills him.
Vardemus and Alaric are at odds over the use of magic, and Alaric winds up punching his new nemesis over the way he is acting.
In the end, Vardemus eats the creature in the forest.
Ethan loses his scholarship after the way everything played out and he got injured thanks to Josie.
Lizzie continued her pursuit of Sebastian, and he revealed to her that he was a vampire. This was a happy development for her.
However, she found herself at odds with MG when he said that Sebastian was a ghost.
