Black Sails Post-Mortem: Finale Shocker, Vane Threat & Romance Hopes

[Spoiler Alert: Only read forward if you have watched the Black Sails Season 2 finale. Major plot points ahead.]

Ouch!

As we saw in Black Sails Season 2 Episode 10, John Silver said much more than that after having part of his leg taken off by some dastardly pirates.

Anyone familiar with the lore of Long John Silver knew a peg leg was in his future - but we didn't know it was coming.

However, Luke Arnold, who plays the character, said he was glad we finally got to this part of the story.

Arnold, sitting with Hannah New on the Nassau set in South Africa recently, talked to me about Silver losing a limb, how having Billy Bones back helped up the ante in Season 2 and the chance of Silver ever getting a love interest.

New, who we saw taken away from Nassau in Black Sails Season 2 Episode 9, broke down Eleanor's relationships earlier this season with the villainous Ned Lowe and also Vane, who was both her lover and enemy during the course of the season.

What will happen in the next season of the Starz drama? The stars didn't give away much but let's see what they did have to say about the current season.

Black Sails Season 3 will set sail in early 2016 on Starz.

Black Sails Season 2 Episode 10 Quotes

I have one regret. I regret ever coming to this place with the assumption that a reconciliation could be found. That reason, could be a bridge between us. Everyone is a monster to someone. Since you are so convinced that I am yours, I will be it.

Flint

Billy: Who said anything about rescuing anyone?
Silver: Didn't Captain Vane?
Billy: There's a significant difference between preventing Ashe from making a trophy of Flint, and saving Flint's life. Whose to say Vane doesn't help Flint escape from shore, and then slit his throat the moment we're in open water? Along with all of ours.
Silver: That was dark.
