The Flash Season 4 Episode 17 Review: Null and Annoyed

at .  Updated at .

The Flash finally returned from its final hiatus as the war against The Thinker is coming to a head.

But along the way comes new twists as Harry begins to act even weirder on The Flash Season 4 Episode 17.

Super Couple - The Flash Season 4 Episode 17

"Null and Annoyed" may be the most action-packed episode The Flash Season 4 has had so far. While it was a lot to take in, I can't deny that it kept me on the edge of my seat.

I never imagined that we would see the Scarlet Speedster float because of a metahuman. When you think about it, that is utterly brilliant because Barry can't exactly run while floating!

Null didn't do much for me as far as the whole villain-of-the-week thing goes. But her powers made the heroic part of "Null and Annoyed" hilarious to watch, so props for that.

When it came to the villain aspect, it was all about the DeVoes. We knew Clifford was nutty, but that was legitimately the sickest thing I have seen on DC TV in a long time.

I never expected The Flash to go this dark with any of their villains. Here I thought an evil Barry killing Iris was the most twisted thing The Flash would ever pull off!

The revelation is both intriguing as well as quite intense to watch in action. The biggest takeaway is that now, more than ever, my care for Marlize is bigger than ever.

Clifford's actions are an insane violation, and I desperately need to see Marlize get to be part of taking him down. I won't be shocked if we see Marlize go to Team Flash soon and offer her services.

The moment we saw the past recordings was when it got truly heartbreaking. I know this can be quite triggering though to some viewers, and I do worry if Clifford will be crossing more lines.

Breacher Is Back - The Flash Season 4 Episode 17

That is why I want to see Marlize be a part of taking down Clifford more than ever. That character deserves that winning moment before the season is over.

I've got to say that in his own weird way, Ralph is making progress as a character. Thankfully, we didn't spend an hour seeing Ralph not sure if he can be a hero or not.

Say what you will, but I appreciated hearing about how the absence of his father affects him. I'm never a fan of characters who simply act comedic for no good reason.

There is usually something that makes a character like that rely on being jokey. But it was healthy to see Barry act as a leader and ground Ralph when it was getting too crazy.

Then we had the C-story that was Breacher. If it wasn't for Danny Trejo, I would not be digging this character as much as I do.

Trejo is both hilarious and terrifying as Cynthia's father, and I love every bit of it. Although, who knew we would see vampires on The Flash?

I wasn't expecting him to offer Cisco to take over his position. I doubt Cisco will accept the offer though, but at the same time, I'm concerned that he might.

Let's look at the overall picture of Team Flash. On "Null and Annoyed," Cisco and Caitlin, who both have powers, weren't used at all.

Looking For a Favor - The Flash

While they were busy with Breacher, there was no reason they couldn't have helped the boys. Is Team Flash possibly getting too crowded with metahumans?

It wouldn't shock me if Cisco expressed some feelings on that soon, similarly to how Wally didn't feel he was needed anymore on Team Flash.

The Flash wouldn't be the same without Vibe, but I'd not blame Cisco if he were to consider Breacher's offer. I suppose only time will tell whether or not Cisco is leaving Team Flash anytime soon.

Kevin Smith episodes of The Flash are usually some of my favorites. "Null and Annoyed" is now one of them and makes me wish Smith could be more involved with The Flash.

While Legends of Tomorrow may have Beebo, guess what The Flash has? Jay and Silent Bob as Smith and Jason Mewes officially exists in the Arrowverse!

Despite them being in only two scenes, it was a major highlight for me. I'm already adding them to my wishlist for things I want on The Flash Season 5.

Thinking With The Thinking Cap - The Flash Season 4 Episode 17

Last, but not least, we have Harry and that final moment. What in the name of Speed Force is going on with him?!

I know they are trying to make it seem like Harry is, in fact, Eobard Thawne. But for some reason, it feels like it would be too simple if it were him.

There are a lot of questions that we need to be answered after that final scene. I both want it to be Eobard while I also don't want it to be him!

Overall, "Null and Annoyed," while incredibly jam-packed, pulled off a lot, from Ralph progressing further as a hero to Clifford getting even crazier as a big bad.

Now it's your turn to let us know what you thought of The Flash Season 4 Episode 17! What did you think of Clifford's recent actions?

How did you feel about Ralph's development? What is going on with Harry Wells?
