Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 Episode 11 Review: Champagne Supernova

Now, that's how you unmask an alien!

Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 Episode 11 was filled with twists and turns from start to finish as our heroes attempted to unmask the elusive fourth alien once and for all.

The reveal was unsurprising, but that's not a bad thing. Noah was the likely option. He's sat on the periphery throughout Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 to the point that many fans have questioned why he is billed as a main character.

More Drama - Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 Episode 11

While we know he was the one who possessed Isobel and had her kill Rosa and the other two girls, there are still a lot of unanswered questions.

Thankfully, we have two more episodes left to get the answers!

Isobel is going to be crushed to know that Noah never loved her, he was merely using her as a pawn in her sick game all this time. The relationship with her was a good cover for his own abilities.

Isobel: The memory wasn't mine. I'm telling you. It was like someone else was inside of my body. Like they were using it. I can influence someone, but this fourth alien was much stronger. They were controlling me. It's like I wasn't even present.
Liz: So, we're back to square one. Anyone could have killed my sister.
Michael: Someone's guilty. Rosa was just the beginning.
Max: Except for Rosa, all of the victims were targeted after a Chenai at the Last Pony, Maria's meal for the disenfranchised.

Noah played his role in everything a little too well, and that's why I started to suspect him as the fourth alien. Liz even started to pick up on it when she realized just how involved he was in the shooting at the hospital.

A Dance Before Lying - Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 Episode 11

It was like he wanted to be there at that moment to A) get shot. B) destroy everything Liz was using to experiment on the people of his kind.

I did laugh out loud when we were being led to believe that Maria was the alien. The evidence started to pile up, but it was so obvious they were going to be red herrings.

Maria being the alien would have been the least satisfying direction to take this storyline in. She's so deeply rooted in the lives of the characters that it would have been the ultimate betrayal.

That being said, the sassier version of Maria who was being controlled by Noah was funnier than usual. Maria is going to be pissed when/if she ever gets to find out what happened to her.

Liz and Cameron teaming up was quite the surprise. They were poised to be love rivals at the top of the season, but I must commend this show on the mature approach it is taking to the relationship drama.

The Fourth Alien? - Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 Episode 11

Cameron using her nail polish to figure out whether Maria's drink had been drugged came out of the left field, but it proved just how resourceful she is.

Liz playing a part in the takedown of Noah was perfect. When she popped out from the back seat to administer a dose of the serum, my heart was thumping out of my chest. I figured Noah was going to bite back and hurt Isobel.

Liz: I'm gonna head to the hospital. The killer took my serum when they wrecked my lab. We need to make more. Only one dose left.
Isobel: How does the killer know about the serum?
Michael: The killer seems to know about everything. They could have possessed anyone at any time. They could have overheard us.
Max: They've gotten away with 14 murders. They need to believe they're still in the clear.

There was no way Liz was going to be gravely injured, but I thought this was going to be the installment we lost a beloved character.

The effect all of this is going to have on Isobel is not going to be good. She's going to need her family more than ever to get through it, but at least she knows she's not the cold-blooded killer everyone thought she was.

Taking a Leap of Faith - Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 Episode 11

Michael and Max being locked up together allowed the pair to confront the past, and it was about time. Michael has long been under the impression that Max cared more about Isobel than him.

He's obviously suffered over the years as a result of not being adopted into a family with two of his own kind, and I loved that Max let all of his feelings on the matter out.

Max could have kept quiet and allowed Michael to have his rant, but the truth is, Max wanted Michael to be in the same place as him and Isobel growing up.

If anything, being locked up brought these brothers closer than ever before, but there's going to be more hurdles on the horizon for them as they try to find out the truth about Noah.

Battered and Bruised - Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 Episode 11

Oh yes, it looks like Roswell, New Mexico Season 1 Episode 12 will finally lift the lid on why the trio were put in the pods and the true reason for their mission to Earth.

This show is firing from all cylinders of late, so we had better be getting that Season 2 renewal in the coming weeks. As a reboot, this show has managed to put a new spin on an old classic.

It has honored the original from the get-go and has been much better received than Charmed as a result. Surely that alone should keep the show around!
