I never understood her devotion to helping such terrible people. Nice people need therapists too, not just killers and rapists.

I'm sorry if Jack McCoy leaving disrupted the stability in your life. But I'm going to be as transparent as I can. I am not the next Jack McCoy. I do not want to be the next Jack McCoy. But that does not mean that I am whoring this office out to whichever cases will win me reelection.
Baxter
Baxter: The election's coming up in less than a month.
Nolan: Maybe I should take first chair.

When I beame district attorney, I took an oath to act fairly and ethically, without bias or favor. I have tried to the best of my ability to uphold that sacred oath.

I have nothing but respect for Jack McCoy, but if you subpoena my son, I will bury you. I will pull my support for McCoy and use my immense power to get his opponent elected, and that new DA's first act will be to fire you in a very public and humiliating way.
