A man is questioned about environmental policy by a reporter and says it is fake news. He and his bodyguard go upstairs. Someone sneaks in after the bodyguard has cleared the upstairs. The bodyguard leaves and the man is executed with a gunshot to the back of his head.

Stabler asks Jet for help with the bullets he found. She has a friend in ballistics who she can ask. Bell interrupts. Nova has something.

Nova tells Stabler there was a hit ordered on him. However, Bernie and Eli both balk about moving to Kathleen's temporarily, though they do it.

Jet suddenly feels a need to hug Stabler. She feels weird about the hit on Stabler. He reassures her that he isn't going anywhere.

The cops discuss why Webb ordered a hit and how the robberies went down.

Bell questions a guy who works for Webb. She wants to know which cop asked him to steal the money back. He IDs Donnelly.

Stabler wants to talk to Donnelly privately. Donnelly kicks everyone out of the squad room. Stabler questions Donnelly about the Urlich robbery. Donnelly bribed the head of security in case there was no money in the safe. It was a test to see if Stabler could crack the safe. Stabler asks him about the use of his credit card. Donnelly says Moss. Donnelly claims to always had had his back. Stabler calls Jet and asks what the last charge on his credit card was. Donnelly asks what Stabler would have done if it was him.

Eli calls and says Bernie is having an episode. She's rambling about all sorts of things. He's worried about her. Stabler says he wants to talk to Kathleen. Bernie grabs the phone just as someone shoots at Stabler. The task force checks on Stabler. He reassures Bernie he's fine.

Webb asks Nova to give a message to Kilbride for him. Stabler bursts in.  Webb won't confess to the shooting and won't back down. He says Stabler is out of time.

Jet has a hit on who might have shot at Stabler. Professional assassin who has killed several people.

DOnnelly announces he's stepping down and Stabler is in charge of the Brotherhood. The rest of the Brotherhood objects, including Stabler, but Donnelly won't listen.

Stabler doesn't want it but Donnelly insists. This power is the closest you can get to playing G-d.

Nova's brother prays that G-d remove the burden of wanting vengeance.

Jet has street cam footage but it's washed out because the camera was dirty (!).

Stabler calls Bell. He has no idea what Donnelly is up to.

Jet calls Stabler. The hit man is a woman.

Nova has stolen a burner Webb was using that has one number on it. Jet has a stringray to help locate an address using GPS.

Jet gets n address. Stabler arrives and uses his phone to open a door. He finds a bunch of photographs. He and Nova chase after Nataiie, who is doing a runner. Stabler loses her but calls Bell and says that the assassin is targeting his whole family. Jet finds the address where Natalie is and goes by himself when he's not supposed to. He chases Natalie through a maze of hallways, only to end up in a room full of boxes. Stabler chases Natalie but she gives him two fingers raised as he pulls his gun and she disappears.

Nova's brother shows up with a gun and tells Webb that Webb murdered his dad. Webb denies it. Nova shows up and tries to intervene. Webb accuses her her of ingratiting herself to get revenge. She is forced to shoot Derek in the groin. Webb says this never happened.

Bernie drops a glass and resents being told to go sit on the couch while Kathleen cleans it up. She asks where Joe is.

Stabler breaks into a room an has a fight with Natalia, who tries to beat him up with a skateboard,frying pans, etc. Stabler fights her off and she collapses -- is she dead?

No, she's alive and in custody. Stabler comes in to question her. She stares silently at him. Stabler encourages her to cooperate with his investigation.

Bell says they have everything they need to take down Webb. She tells Stabler to take care of his face.

Nova goes to see her brother in the hospital. He says she should have let him kill Webb. Derek doesn't believe he's a man of G-d. Nova says it's who he is. This is why she put on a badge. She says Webb is her business, not Derek's. She gives him a bus ticket to Chicago so he can go home.

Bridgette questions Donnelly about the money. He says they gotta go. She doesn't want to up and leave when they are building a life here. He says they have to go on the run for now. She asks when they are coming back. He promises her they will be back Christmas. She says their new name better be a good one

Kathleen hugs Stabler, clearly scared. He says he will try not to scare her again.

Elliot goes to see Bernie, who is lying down. She wants to be home where they belong. He knows. She asks can they have that? He says soon.

Jet comes by to talk to Stabler. The slug from the tree matches the one in his father's leg. That means Gus Hansen shot his dad to cover up a dirty shooting. Jet says ohhh. She apologizes but Stabler appreciates her getting the information.
