Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 20 revolves around a seemingly insignificant case.

When a woman finds her husband's head in the dryer, the Feds call Organized Crime in. Stabler doesn't see what this case has to do with them. The man was a bank robber and his partner was also killed.

Organized Crime investigates and finds DNA in the dryer belonging to Junior Suarez, a notorious BX9 member who is serving a life sentence. It's the perfect alibi, so Bell says they need evidence before they can move forward even though they b oth believe that Suarez is guilty.

The cops' investigation leads them to discover that Suarez has a twin sister who says that her brother gets unofficial furloughs. His CO is corrupt and lets prisoners out to do jobs in exchange for a little time on the outside and all the cigarettes they want inside. Since Suarez got paid in cash, he must have done another job that night.

Stabler soon learns another woman was killed that night. It makes no sense to him as she had no mob ties, but Belle tells him to let it go.

Meanwhile, Stabler and his mother have an emotional moment when she sets a place for Kathy, who she has forgotten is dead.
