Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 1 Episode 8 is all about the aftermath of Wheatley's arrest.

In court, Wheatley tries to make a speech about how his children are being targeted for prosecution because they are Black and how the charges are ridiculous. The judge is unimpressed with this argument, as are Stabler and Bell, and Wheatley is remanded pending trial. However, he soon demands to speak with Vincent Baldi, a US attorney, claiming to have info about people higher in the food chain than him.

The FBI is uninterested in Stabler and Bell's opinion that Wheatley needs more security for the transport to his new home. Organized Crime turns out to be right when a bunch of gunmen jump out of a truck and attempt to shoot Wheatley. Stabler shoots to kill and then he and Bell get Wheatley to safety to try to address his wounds while waiting for an ambulance. Wheatley is impressed with Stabler's shooting ability but uninterested in telling them who's after him.

Meanwhile, Angela Wheatley is poisoned while taking a shower in her hotel room despite the police precautions meant to protect her from an attack by her ex-husband.
