Stabler and his family go into court for the Wheatleys' arraignment. Wheatley feels a need to give Stabler a look while all the charges are read, including Wheatley being charged with Kathy and Sinatra's murders. Wheatley makes a speech about how disgusting it is that his kids are being prosecuted because of their skin color. The judge shuts that down. Everyone is remanded without bail.

Wheatley's attorney claims to the press that there is a massive conflict of interest because of Stabler. Bell tells someone that Stabler has her back so she's glad they have his. She also thinks Angela is just bitter and vindictive. Angela is watching while under police protection in a hotel. Washburn insists on patting her attorney down before he lets him in. He won't let him give Angela food that's not from this hotel.

Angela doesn't think the guards will stop Wheatley. Her attorney is still working on dealing with her children. She is sure Richie is terrified and doesn't think he was involved in killing Gina. He has also found out that Wheatley might have been talking about Benson when he said Stabler was in love with someone.

Wheatley's lawyer says the case won't go to court for a year. If he has a card to play, better do it now. 

The OC team learns that Wheatley is planning on trying to make a deal with a federal prosecutor who is running for governor.

The cops and DA go to talk to Vince Baldi (Josh Charles). He says he knows Wheatley for years and if Wheatley turns out to be a criminal he will return all his campaign donations. Stabler interrupts that Wheatley murdered his wife. Baldi claims he wants justice and has to consider Wheatley's info. 

Stabler does some deep breathing with someone on the phone and says he remembers he's supposed to call someone he trusts. A little while later, Bell shows up to check on him. She's glad he called. He tells her he is working with a PTSD therapist on coping strategies. He doesn't know what to do. bell says just sit, she's here.

Stabler Richie is in the TV room at jail and walks nervously through the cafeteria to talk to some Black guys who at first deny being gang members. He mentions some Congressman and they warn him to keep his mouth shut.

Washburn comes up to Angela's room to relieve Morales. Angela goes into the bathroom (is she going to try to escape?)

Richie talks to the gang leader guy in the shower who denies knowing the Congressman but does know a Mr. Taylor. Why is Richie going against his family? Richie says cause Wheatley killed his grandfather.

Ellsworth comes up while Angela is in the bathroom. She nervously takes a shower while Washburn watches TV. They hear a crash and Angela is foaming at the mouth . Washburn calls for help.

Stabler has a therapy session where he says his anxiety is worse along with his feeling of hopelessness.  Work helps. Stabler's session is interrupted by a call about Angela. She is lucky to be alive. She was poisoned with the same thing as used in Russia. Washburn admits he bought some stuff at the pharmacy. Jet says that Washburn might have ordered supplies on his personal phone which might not have been encrypted. She checks his phone. Washburn realizes he screwed up. He is so, so sorry (is he really?)

Wheatley is reading when Bell and Stabler show up at his cell. He makes them wait because he's at the good part of his book (LOL) Wheatley is being transported and the FBI is not happy that STabler and Bell warn them that they need more security because Wheatley is so dangerous. Bell and Stabler tail him anyway. Hugo (the gang leader) calls his contact..

Bell gets a call from her wife about what color to paint the nursery while theyare tailing Wheatley. A truck gets in the way. Someone shooots at Wheatley. Stabler shoots the shooter. Wheatley is hit. Stabler takes Wehatley out of the van (is that really a good idea?) and someone shoots at him in a small market.

Stabler and Bell take Wheatley into a kitchen area to treat his wounds.  Wheatley says this isn't his guys and he'll say it was a good shoot. Meanwhile the bad guys force a woman downstairs to tell them where Wheatley is. Stabler and Bell try to interrogate Wheatley about who might have attacked him. Stabler hears a noise. Bell calls for backup The gunmen want Wheatley. Stabler wants to talk to the boss. Bell says she will give them Wheatley. A bunch of SWAT team members show up and arrest all the gunmen. (That was almost too easy. )

Bell wants to take Wheatley to a hospital. Apparently her boss wants them to deliver him to the US attorney. When they arrive, Benson is there with a bunch of cops to support OC. Wheatley makes some comment about how he understands why Stabler is into her. Benson is unfazed and says to get him out of here.

Wheatley claims to have info about some guy in the Treasury Department for Baldi. He has footage of some guy in Japan and says he has info about how his associates are monetizing COVID. Baldi needs a few minutes. He goes to see Stabler and Bell. Stabler tells Baldi that there are thousands of cops outside and that they all view the world through the prism of whether they will make it home. Bell and Stabler want Baldi to let them prosecute Wheatley for Kathy's murder.

Wheatley is gloating as he is taken away. He hopes Angela is okay. Stabler stuffs him into the back of a car and doesn't take the bait.

Wheatley is taken to a cell where he finds a hidden cell phone and calls Pilar (?) to do something for him. He wants her to enter the message he's going to dictate: "O I'm in trouble, can you please come meet me?"

The cops go to see a Susan Johnson in room 526.

Benson is in the hospital. She thinks she saw a detctive dressed as an orderly.. She calls Stabler and then finds someone bound and gagged on the floor. She tells Bell and Stabler where to find Morales (!!!) He says he messed up. Wheatley gave him 2 million  He is holding the gun to his own head. He puts the gun down then tries to shoot. Stabler shoots him.

Benson goes to see Angela who is coding. Stabler calls for help. Bell begs Angela to stay with them. Stabler screams for help.
